The King’s Speech released on BluRay
Fans of Colin Firth should set up camp at your local DVD store this Tuesday, because his instant-classic The Kings Speech will be released on Blu Ray and DVD for the whole world to see! We here at Colin Firth.tv are huge fans of the movie, and happen to think that it was one of the best dramas to be released in 2010. Colin Firth’s performance in the film was utterly breathtaking, and apparently the Academy Awards agreed too, because he ended up getting Best Picture for his incredible portrayal of the King of England! If you missed this film, be sure to watch it this Tuesday!
Colin Firth Supporter of Survival International
Colin Firth has been a supporter for a very long time of Survival International, a non-government organization that defends the rights of tribal people. When Firth spoke in 2001, he stated, “My interest in tribal peoples goes back many years and I have supported Survival ever since.”
In 2003, during the promotion of his movie “Love Actually”, he defended the tribal people of Botswana. He condemned the Botswana government’s eviction of the Gana and Gwi Bushmen from the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. He stated about eh Bushmen, “These people are not the remnants of a past era who need to be brought up to date. Those who are able to continue to love on the land that is rightfully theirs are facing the 21st century with a confidence that many of us in the so-called developed world can only envy.”
